Simon Steen-Andersen & Asamisimasa

Megaphones, joysticks, a whammy pedal, video and instruments will all be used, as the Norwegian ensemble Asamisimasa performs the portrait-concert On and Off. During 2011 the concert has become a Europe-wide sensation and Simon Steen-Andersen has, with his boundary-crossing virtuous sound-installations, been proclaimed to be a shooting star on the European music scene. As Simon Steen-Andersen expresses it himself: “Every concert is an overall experience – for good or bad. To see a concert is to me as important as hearing it. When I compose, I try actively to make use of the visual and physical sides of the performance-situation by enhancing the visual and choreographic, so that it is in balance with the sonorous.
