Hassan Khan

The Egyptian musician and artist Hassan Khan mixes electronic beats and synth-heavy riffs in a flickering noisy landscape with brass drones and sampled strings. Multitalented Hassan Khan is the very spearhead on the avant-garde scene in Cairo and he inspects the essence of the city’s culture, history and voices through his electronic music. The noise, the theatrical and the energy of the city’s life will be reflected in Shaabi, a popular kind of Egyptian street-music that Hassan Khan mixes, interprets and distorts in this night’s show New Wave Shaabi.
