SPEKTR EXOTICA
Frederik Thaae (picture top right) is the front figure behind the Danish chameleon band A Kid Hereafter, which delivered a lively and surprising show at last year’s Wundergrund. At this year’s Wundergrund Thaae is taking on yet another new identity! As curator of tonight’s concert he has explored and interpreted the wild and nostalgic universe of the Danish surf rock band SPEkTR. SPEkTR (picture top left.) delivers music based on nostalgia, speed, old movies and romance and in the fantastic sound universe you can find reminisces of Morricone’s deserted prairies, screaming TV monitors and whispering voices of filthy Hitchcock spies…Thaae has arranged SPEkTR’s colourful universe into a new “exotica mix” with among others a smooth doublebass and wild wind instruments.
BONAPARTE
For the first time in Denmark, Wundergrund presents the Berlin indie-talk of town: The Hedonist Army Bonaparte Circus Show!! The crazy and lively party soldiers has already concurred the Berlin underground scene with a tremendous party mix of music, cabaret and circus... Bonaparte (pict. buttom left) is just as famous for their surrealistic scene performance with wild costumes and crazy acts as for their music, which is build upon a fine mixture of indie, electronica and dance punk – a curious style which has made Quentin Tarrantino hire them for private shows. Let's Bonaparty...!!
JEANS TEAM
The unique sound of dance and complex pop and fantastic electronic acts has made Jeans Team one of the most important electronic bands of Berlin. They have produced hits as Kleine Melodien, which has been remixed by MJ Lan and Peaches. Tonight Jeans Team will throw an electric arty-party and show why they time and time again has been compared to notorious bands such as Kraftwerk and DAF!
The night continues with DJ’s from Berlin. DJ Monokid and Marc Weiser (aka Rechenzentrum) will turn tables and make sure that Wundergrund 2009 ends with a blast!
