DIETER BAUMANN/REINHOLD FRIEDL (SHOWS AT 13:00 & 17:00 CET, Dansescenen)

This Sunday afternoon, Wundergrund presents the brand new teater dance performance Tropen, by Dieter Baumann (Tanzkompagnie Rubato) and the composer and pianist Reinhold Friedl (Zeitkratzer) both from Berlin. A trope is a way of turning a word away from its normal meaning, or turning it into something else. They describe their perfomance as follows:

”The dancer becomes a chamber singer – the singer is the body – in dialogue with the pianist. The sound machine and the body meet in a reduced way, simultaneously wild and disciplined. And tropics are hot and wet.

This is going to be an absolutely unusual experience, which will take place in the former mineral water factory of Carlsberg, Dansehallerne, the largest center of modern dance in Northern Europe!

SOLVEIG SANDNES/ANDERS REMMER/CHARLOTTE FICH (15:00 CET, Dansescenen)

This performance, called “Rebellious Nature” is a dj-poetry-drama-mashup of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night's Dream made by Arvo Pärt and Arthur Russel, in co-operation with Solveig Sandnes. Sandnes and the DJ and musician Anders Remmer, and the actress Charlotte Fich, will scrutinize literature, this time translating Shakespeare’s lines into sounds! The performance will alternate between wordless music and text recitations, added choir, where new-wave meets Renaissance music, in a series of elongated instrumental surfaces, sometimes spiced with gurgling, chirping, growling and roaring vocal. The sound is accompanied by extracts of Max Reinhardt’s classic film adaption of A Midsummer Night’s Dream from 1935.

Presented in co-operation with Dansk Artist Forbund
